mole catcher 1
what i witnessed back in november was this, Greyhounds in muzzles, no horse mounted judge but a panel of three foot judges. a clapsible fence with a gap which the hare can escape and shooters at each corner to shot the hare that escaped under the fence. sounds fancyfull but i tell you the truth in that this was done with the full concent of the local police force after their solicitors had lengthy talks with the coursing clubs solicitors. All written permission was held in writting on the days that these field trials were held. And it is because it has become a fieldtrial that it is within the law as it stands. The coursing club that i belong to have held these field trials for the 2 years scince the ban and it has been done with full legal permission as all the requierments that i have out lined in part one were met. This way of getting round the law was first devised on the eve the law was made public and has stood the test of the last 2 years, WHY HAVNT MORE CLUBS HELD TRIALS i hear you ask? my sentiment exactly. NOW BEFOR ANY REQUESTS ARE MADE TO DIVULDGE THE CLUBS IDENTITY, SORRY THAT STAYS WITH ME AS I HAVE BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION TO TELL OF THE TRIALS BUT BEEN ASKED TO KEEP THE CLUBS IDENTITY PRIVATE. hAVE A READ OF WHAT IS LAW AND SEE IF LIKE ME YOU CAN ALSO SEE THE LOOP HOLES REGARDS molecatcher Quote Link to post

mole catcher 1
this is where their stupid laws about animal wellfair fail to protect the animals that it was intended to. it shows just how rushed in this law was. after all the main point of argument was about animal wellfair Edited March 9, 2007 by mole catcher Quote Link to post

mole catcher 1
you answered your own question below the less the antis know the better that leads to a question of if its lawfull why hide? Quote Link to post
elma-fudd 0
would there be any of these clubs in scotland, great way to keep the dogs in shape and not breaking the law. Quote Link to post
brock 11
its not hidingit, its just keeping it so that the anti scum dont harras the people coursing, pestering them and filming them,i would like to add that, yes,its brilliant for the greyhound boys, but sadly the true single handed courser is still a criminal Edited March 9, 2007 by brock Quote Link to post

But if we can make a start at breaking down this unjust law who knows where it may lead. You as a coursing follower know that coursing was allways the sacrifitial lamb to slaughter so if this can be overturned what a turn around it would be. edited to add: just a thought but couldnt this be seen to path the way for lurcher coursing to follow on as the greyhound clubs have? if this where to happen im sure more lurcher owners would be seen as law abiding than before the ban rather than seen as poachers? mole trapper 1,693
Interesting food for thought there MC, it doesnt get away from the fact that we are pandering to them and there unjust act, but if people can still run their dogs on a hare and not fear prosecution then good on it. :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
would there be any of these clubs in scotland, great way to keep the dogs in shape and not breaking the law. I have sent you a PM Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
Personally, i think the time to highlight how the coursing clubs have got round the ban, is when this b*****d government has been removed, and there is NO chance of them closing loopholes, we would get a more sympathetic ear from the tories, they might not do anything for fieldsports, but they certainly wont do anything against us. Dont give the b*****ds any more ammunition. Quote Link to post
TOMO 26,231
i know a few who belong to the club in question. the thing i would like to know is why hasn't the waterloo cup done this? Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
i know a few who belong to the club in question. the thing i would like to know is why hasn't the waterloo cup done this? good point would it be because the organisers of the waterloo no longer have the desire to carry on the fight like so many coursing followers i know? i do hope not as they are after all the most well known of all coursing meets. Baldie: i see your point about waiting to time your strike but how long do we wait? I personaly feel to many people are pinning their hopes on the conservitives gaining power. think about it, we have an other 2years befor an ellection, whats to say that Mr Cameron wont be the leader of the conservitines by then anyway?2 years in politics is an awfully long time and whos to say that if this happens his succsesor will want to pin all their political hopes on what is potentially a big nail in thier coffin? Guest mush
mole catcher. if the government didn't take any notice of what we had to say before the ban when there was dozens of coursing clubs ,why do you think they will take any notice now? As baldie said they will just close the loopholes. Quote Link to post
