tegater 789
Went out this morning with my rifle to whack a rabbit for the ferrets. Eventually spotted one with my binos about 250 metres away, and on the edge of a bank of rushes, so spent the next 10 moving round to a closer and suitable firing position. Just as I'm getting into position, Charlie's head pops up in the rushes, about turns and does one at top speed!! Ahh well, that's the way it goes sometime! (doesn't stop you feeling hacked off though, and yes I did get a bunny, but not that one) Quote Link to post

dave1372 83
I take it you were going to shoot it with a .22lr? otherwise you could of just whacked it at 250 yards from where you were. Quote Link to post
tegater 789
Was just out with my hmr, and although I,m happy with whacking rabbits at 200, 250 would have been a bit hit or miss in the conditions I had this morning, especially cos I needed the bunny. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
I use a squeaker from a dog's rubber toy, and squeaked this little vixen in from 100yds to 50yds, yes its a .22 rimmy, and have the condition on my license that I can dispatch any animal if in association with pest control Quote Link to post
tegater 789
Nice one mate. I have one of those Johnny Stewart fox calls, which I find works brilliant on cubs, but usually I use the palm of hand. On this occasion I didnt have time for either! Thats the way it goes! What rifle do you have there, is that a silhouette? Quote Link to post
