20th & 21st august. They've changed the location to Drumlanrig castle because the last few years it was the same old. My dad lives in the estate and speaking to the office they said this years going to be the best one yet, they're trying to make it better than scone. It's well worth the trip like. Think there's s dog show on the Sunday. I'm working Sunday so going on the sat.

better than scone. a jumble sale in the back garden would be better than scone.

ive experienced a wee bit of confusion at this show in the past with the way its been terriers one day and lurchers the next or vice versa. why dont they do both on both days? many other two day events manage it. its one of my most local events and while it'll never compete with the big shows we should make it as good as it could be. i've booked a weeks holiday to ensure i get to it so i'm off all week running up to it and would gladly help in any setting up etc. if it was just down to prizes i think i'd scrape up a few from local busuinesses, shops etc. theres also a few non ped racers in the area that could probably help or run racing, the gundog scuury is next to the usual showring site dont think it would take much effort to run some kind of working / retrieving type trial. I hope ive not come across as negative ive tried not to as i genuinly believe it could be a belter of a wee show

They're both on the same days now mate, think the problem with having terriers and lurchers on both days would be that in September there's a lot of championship shows on and the Sunday cock of the north is on, and judges it's well up for a lot of people

The show is on the saturday as last year the reason being as grant says it was clashing with a big show in the North of England and some lurcher lads couldnt make it, as for two shows over the weekend i dont think enough people would come it isnt cheap to attend these game fairs,

You are more than welcome to help at the show racing starts around 11:00 shows around 13:00 introduce yourself....any prizes handed in are greatly appreciated and will be handed out at the show

clashing, fair enough. cost i agree is a sticky one but if we put on more ie racing, jumping, a working/ retrieving trial thing etc maybe it would become more attractive and cost effective. i have gave prizes in to shows on the day its just this is my local show and id like to see it grow
