Bosun11 537
From the ones I've seen in use, as i'm on the same trail as you Artic, the Wenlock range have been the best but the choices are huge mate, i'd always opt for the multi fuel.

Guest thebigdog
our bungalow is heated by 2 log burners and it saves me a fortune.got them both at auctions and they are great.got the big one in the kitchen with a copper kettle on top all the time to make a brew.never turned the heating on in 2 years since we moved in and get all my wood off the estate for free.even cook bacon on top in the winter for my butties. They are expensive things to run though if you did not get free wood. Coal is £240 a ton here (and that is the cheap-medium price) and i use between 2-3 ton per year, wood is free when i can get it but not enough to run the fire on for long, plus you don't get enough heat for this cottage from wood alone. To buy logs is about £3.00 for a small bag, they are usually pine which in my experience is crap for heat. , can you not order wood by the ton over there? its about 50/ 60 euro ton here. check you local classifieds
jf1970 328
i have a STANLEY "ERIN". I burn coal and logs in mine, i also have it piped up to the hot tank and it heats up 12 big radiators, it was a bit pricey at €1800, but worth it's weight in gold.

wirral countryman 2,110
I have had a little wenlock for about 5yrs or so and they have been stove of the year every year since dot, they meet all the emission criteria, even smokeless, the door has a double seal so the house is'nt stinking of smoke and its made by aga who have been making quality stoves for years,my living room is 22ft long and even with the door to the hall left open so as to warm upstairs it can get too hot, learning to control the heat and rate of burn can take a while but it is the best thing I ever bought and is like a hobby cutting wood ,etc, hope this helps, wirralman
