Any whelping advice welcome..

Recommended Posts

Our lurcher bitch is due 23rd August.. was just wondering if anyone advice or whelping stories for me? I can't get enough information about it and seem to be spending my evenings either reading about whelps or watching youtube videos. My partner has bred bitches before but its a first time for me.

She's been a brilliant text book pregnancy so am hoping for the same for the birth, fingers and paws crossed

not much you can do really, make sure she is in a warm, dry, comfortable place away from other dogs, kids ect, when the time comes leave her to it but be on hand if anything goes wrong, atb with the new litter

Best advise I can give is dont panic lol Just had first litter off my bitch and apart from the obvious that was best bit of advise I had  I was on the phone to my mate for most of it and in the end he told me to get a grip and let the bitch get on with it.

Morning, taken a step back from quad bikes and hounds - Don’t need the grief anymore. Having moved house my country has changed, curious of those that do hunt the hills with their lurches and a terrier at your heel, how do you bring them on? Getting the right dog for the job is no brainier but what about the training? Thanks.

      **sorry for the double post**
I know I'm probably going to get the piss severely ripped out of me for asking this, but
Has anyone ever successfully trained a deaf lurcher (from two working parents and I own her 4 year old sister who is an awesome little bunny basher.)
Genetically she has potential, but...what do you experts think?
She's not a Double merle by the way, it's extreme piebald/white head. Her vision is perfect
