jawn 449
I could post pictures of them on game.... but it probably isn't appropriate. We hunt them above and below... on whatever lives wherever we're hunting it. Hogs... coon... coyote.... fox.... and unfortunately skunk and possum... rabbit... duck.... dove... etc. Our digs are shallow when we can dig... usually no more four or five feet. If digging is all that you do your probably fine with what you have. If you need dogs that locate...above or below... I doubt you find better than the jagd. You're welcome to come and hunt any time your up for it..... if you want to hunt with someone who digs to his jagds as much as you do your dogs, it can probably be arranged. Harlow probably is probably not too far from you. Edited November 29, 2013 by jawn Quote Link to post
jawn 449
The pups are looking good jawn, do you try to keep them well socialised with the family? Thank you! Yes... as you probably know you almost have to.... if they don't know their place.... being jagds they will act up and make living with them unpleasant. I'm lucky in that my youngest loves them.... my wife hates the ground they walk on, but loves the bulldogs. Quote Link to post
pitdawg913 27
@Jawn... my comment wasnt directed specifically at you buddy, Just a statement in General...as you know im insanely interested in a jagd, but I would enjoy seeing some good ol hunting pics.. who doesnt? I think the man made tunnel vids are cool from Europe and all the training photos are great to see too...I would just love to see someone using them for ground work on a regular basis over here in the states...would be cool for me thats all...I enjoy all kinds of pics and take many of my own outings... Again this was not specific to you, your one of the few guys who actually sounds like you have the right size dogs for what I would like... Quote Link to post
jawn 449
I didn't think your comment was directed at me specifically buddy....and I'm not sure what man made tunnel videos from Europe have to do with anything, but you're more than welcome to come down and see for yourself what and how we hunt, or like I said I can probably hook you up with Harlow who has some great jagds he digs to on a "regular basis." Our dogs are free cast and they can get a little bit rangy..... but they work to ground too. Once deer season is over I'll get you some pics of them working the rocks.... I can assure you... it's not as easy as you think. I think it would be cool to see some fells running five or six hundred meter tracks.... or finding game on their own that isn't denned up. Maybe hunting hogs or treeing big game. I don't need pics.... I'll come and see it with my own eyes.... and then maybe we can see that same dog work to ground if opportunity presents itself. Hope your Thanksgiving was a pleasant one. Quote Link to post
pitdawg913 27
I'd love to see some black n tan vs boar action ! If your serious about an invite that would be a dream come true going hog hunting for me... With terriers would icing on the cake! Also my door is open for ya to come hunt out here... Guaranteed good times will be had... No hogs here but lots of coon, fox, badger and coyotes.... We could stay busy with the dogs above and below ground for a few days buddy... Would be a blast ! I just had a couple of out of towners come thru last weekend... I don't think they left disappointed... Edited November 29, 2013 by pitdawg913 Quote Link to post

Mosby 355
Greg D used to dig a jagd several times a week. It was a tiny little dog. I liked the type a lot. Not very hard but then he wouldn't have been digging it 3 days out of the week. 1 Quote Link to post
artrodex 1
Talking about pll I tested more dogs than any other people in USA and I found some positives many carriers and few negatives from big names in the jagdterrier world I no go mention names to not hurt personal interests. But pll is a disease very wide extended like or not to the dogs owner and make then denial about is a real problem. About digging the jagdterrier I not have the pleasure yet but I use them a lot I have the opportunity to compare to others breeds and I not change any more to other kind if dog 1 Quote Link to post
VITALIY13 142
Many of my friends are using Laika for hunting for wild boar and badgers, but they now have to admit that Jagd no worse on the surface. And in dense bushes even better. Pretty good work in tandem, Laika and Jagd. Many are already planning to buy a Jagd to help larger dog in finding and working in dense bushes . Like it or not but Jagd has a fairly wide range of uses. Quote Link to post
