Millet 4,497
I might have a bit of work clearing three pond's measuring around 50yrd long and 50yrd wide the main problem is blanket weed like the tittle say's but they is other weed's that need dragging out prior to silt removal..i have seen it done before with rake's on the end of a big piece of rope to good effect..does anyone have any info on this method with maybe the odd photo of the tool's involved..and also any advice on the removal of silt.. These pond's are over 300yrs old and are lined with clay so maximum care must be taken not to damage the clay bed in the removal of silt that has reached a depth of over 2ft..through the surrounding woodland dropping leaves and branches every year.. Does anyone have any knowledge of any pump's and machinery that could help with this bit of work bearing in mind it is a isolated area with no road's or mean's of moving heavy machinery ...
