Get on there & post, je'll come & give you advice. It certainly won't be easy but good luck with it. Edited August 9, 2011 by butcherboy Quote Link to post

spec 45
oh god, that's awful. so sorry. as others have said, hand rearing pups isn't easy, but it can be done. this article- http://www.petalia.com.au/templates/storytemplate_process.cfm?story_no=753 might be of use, and I'm sure Skycat will have good advice too. If you have any trouble getting hold of syringes/teats small enough at this stage I have some tiny ones I can sterilize and post. Just PM me if needed. good luck. Quote Link to post

biglee 1 3
Really sorry to hear that, you must be gutted! I hope I can give you a wee bit of help......I recently had the experience of hand rearing a pup from my bitches litter that was the runt. I decided to try bottle feeding the wee fella first before tube feeding. His sucking reflex was strong enough to suck from a bottle, but I found an actual babies bottle more sucessful that the bottle you get in the puppy feeding kits. I used lactol for him at first, then after some advice from my local agricultural suppliers I switched to ewes replacement milk......far cheaper and just the exact same as lactol only in a different packaging!! I also had to do the whole toileting thing for the wee fella, which im sure your all clued up on. I fed the pup every hour for the first couple of days then increased to every two hours (even during the night) Other than feeding and toileting I just made sure the wee guy was warm. After a lot of sleepless nights, the pup is now 5months old and doing great! Hope this helps and all the best!! Quote Link to post
