DottyDoo 500
hide custard creams about the house to encourage him to hunt yer dog will be fine mate Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
firstly why would you want an aggresive lurcher? it would be a liability and would limit your hunting experience not to mention being dangerouse. as for being in the house it makes no difference to its hunting ability as long as the whole family are not giving it treats evry 2 mins making a fat fcuker ........ fcuktheban 140
I think he meant drive not aggression and the answer is no as said above as long as you don't turn the dog into a fat poof. Quote Link to post

ban is just a word 43
i keep my bitch kennelled outside my brother keeps his dogs inside and his work as good as any kennell dog the only reasons i keep mine outside is so she can withstand harsher weather and if she came in the house she would find bits nd bobs lieing round the house that people have left on the floor and cant be doing with the hassle Quote Link to post

You'll probably find, she's either glued to the spot or continually pacing, which in turn drives you nuts and back out she goes, to forever repeat the cycle. As for indoors or outdoors, its personal choice, it certainly wont make any difference to any lurcher thats out in the field, doing what it was bred for. Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
It's normal for an outside dog to feel warm if it comes in a house: I don't have central heating and I damn near keel over when I go into other people's houses where the heat is on. It all depends on what you or the dog is used to. Dogs can acclimatise to different living temperatures same as people, but I still don't think it affects their ability to withstand cold weather when they are working: adrenalin and being active keep indoor dogs warm when they are working. pattstaff 157
I cant fathom the people who keep working dogs indoors.Whether Im out with lurchers, hounds or terriers, usually they come home in a right state and covered in seven colours of sh!t.Do you bath your dogs everytime you return from hunting? Im imagining if you dont your house must have funky aroma. 1 Quote Link to post
