Hardfeather 56
I've got a siskin mule in the house,I wouldn't say its finch noted but that may be down to training ( I didn't breed it) and not sure how I could improve it but it sings a bit when it feels like it,any advice on how to improve its song would be good but after 12 months it may be too late? bunnys 1,228
siskin mules can make attractive little songsters when around the siskin cock and not aloud to pick up each and every note of other bird in the same place the same applies to all the mules bred primarily for songsters .the siskin will breed freely with the hen canary anice clear yellow irish fancy will get some little beaut mini mules.atb and good luck for 212 bunnys. I agree Bunnys and if you want to breed a siskin mini mule for showing the best hen to use is a Irish/fife cross because the roundness of the fife and the snipey head of the Irish will show in the young which makes for a good cobby snipe headed siskin mule, exactly what will catch a good judges eye... bunnys 1,228
hi there franc, mules greenies or any other type are to me best bred in cages ,solely because you have control more so than in flights unless you have divides in flight cages .i breed all types in large flight type box cages 3x2 some longer ,trios when hybridising say finch cock with canary and greenie hen trios done in this fashion usually will get a result .i have been breeding mules since my early teens ,cages are the way forward where space his premium the elements outside can be a wounder gales cats just to name a few can lose ya nests of chicks i no through experience .greenies will and do breed on the colony system also goldies will , a good goldie greenie his a sight to behold goldie bullies are quiet easy to produce ,i would say go for what you can mix and match your birds keeping an eye out for birds that are getting along compattability and bonding his of course what we look for .fdone some goldie redpolls this yr same pair been running for the third season results this time round .if you want to breed for the show bench yellow norwich hens are the type uoun need for minin mules like memoraman says irish xfife can get ya a dcent bird of the mini type atbbunnys.
