Could anyone tell me if my little bitch is too fat? Might seem silly but I don't know a whole lot about Whippets, what I can say is she is as fast as the wind. Oh and what does TTS mean?

hya mate hard to tell from a photo but she does look to be overweight a bit and tts means heighth to shoulder its how lurchers are measured .

Can't really comment on the dog's weight, not the best angle to see really.

Thanks for the replies. I can tell you all you want to know about tracking dogs but Whippets, well she is my first. She has muscles on muscles! I can not feel much fat. The reason I ask is that I spotted another whippet the other day and it was real skinny, I could see all the ribs. When my bitch lays down, I can see four ribs but when standing just one.

She is just 9 months old. 101% meat eater. Venison for her main meal with tripe for breakfast and the odd egg with cod liver oil.

She has a run (long run) every night with my Collie X, which leaves me thinking she might need to cut back on the tripe a little?

That was my guess if I am to be honest, she is still a pup and yet to chase anything other than crows.

tbh mate i wouldnt worry at that age but if ya do want to trim her down a tad then like the lads have said chasing bunnies or get the push rod out and do some miles with her that should sort her out but she looks a cracker as she is atb mick...............
