Strong Stuff 2,171
sorry I'm a bit hormonal yc Edited to say if you roast the carcase and put some gravy on it they will love it mine do, they are proper fat fecks. No really if they don't eat it give them feck all. Exactly what will be happening here, we're on day 2 of turning his nose up, I've put the food away again now, he'll get another 20 minutes with it tonight, then it will go away until tomorrow. Hard to do, but I'm fecked if I'll be ruled by the little hairy bast.ard! Might make him some cheese on toast in a bit though, poor little fella looks hungry

Strong Stuff 2,171
just keep trying s.s ..... all mine love them. . they have them 3 or 4 times a week Given up again for now, felt a cu.nt not feeding him for 2 full days. To be fair, with one 20Kg dog it wouldn't cost me the earth to feed him human grade meat everyday, I just wanted to make sure he was getting all he needed, guess he's just a red meat sort of dog. Exactly what I thought, he's just a little b.astard! Not into the boiling chicken thing, it'll stink my house out, so I think I'll give up on it for now. Just got about 5lb of different red meats off the reduced counter in Tesco for about 2 quid so will stick to that for now. Otherwise he's getting Bakers lol
inan 841
I used to be terrified about feeding raw. After watching my 12 week old pup swallow 4 x whole chicken wings and regurgitate them I started to relax. I think it's pretty rare that a dog chokes on raw bones. Try a breast of lamb first, they seem a little softer and go down well. This might improve your confidence with raw feeding? Gaz I have a 3 months puppy he demolishes a raw carcass in around 8/10 minutes.

gnipper 6,485
Part boil one SS he'll eat it then, gradually reduce how much you boil it till he's eating one whole. My old terrier wouldn't touch any raw meat at all until I got another dog and then he either twigged it was food or ate it so the other couldn't but either way after that he would eat anything. Chicken carcasses make up the bulk of what I feed my dogs, and never had a problem. Are you feeding the dogs together? You should separate them when they eat, as when they feed together there will usually be one of them that gets pushed to the back and doesn't get as much as the others. This leads to dogs trying to rush food down, as they think they're going to have their food taken off them or the others are going to eat all the snap before they get a chance.
