pups first jabs should it be 6 8 or 12 weeks

by the way i whould like to know from you courseing people when do you go for your first jabs for a pup i been the game 35 years and my first vet used to jab my pups at 6weeks of age and i had another vet use to jab them at 8 weeks but my latest vet will not jab a pup till its 12 weeks of age and go back 10 days later for it second one i can honesly say that i never in35 years have i been for a booster i think its a big rip off thanks alot

8 week, then back at 10 weeks.

The resion being is because the anitbodys from the mother can knock the first

jab out - the second jab is to make sure they are fully covered,

by 12-15 weeks, they should only realy need the one, as the antibodys should have left the pup by then,

(Although all pups are different)

 

I prefare to get them done early as possable, as the best time for a pups socal learning is before its 12 weeks.

 

The ‘socialisation window’ of puppies is between 6-12 weeks of age. This is the main learning period; therefore it is important that puppies encounter as many new experiences as early as possible if they are to develop into a friendly, confident dog. It is often advisable to start introducing your puppy to other healthy, vaccinated dogs after your puppies 1st vaccination, so that maximum socialisation can take place. Routinely puppies are given their first vaccination between 6-8 weeks of age and then their second at 10 weeks.
