AlbertJ 569
albert at all your shows you have a whippet and lurcher judge why not ask them to do an extra jod for you and get them to take the names for the racing. owner and dog to go put there name down and what class they would like it to race in and if the lurcher and whippet judge agree with this class then it will be put in this class. just an idea to stop the cheating . maybe have some mussel behind them just incase lol lesley d best thing to do is BAN THE KC REG DOGS and get back to working dogs more fun for THE TRUE HUNTING MAN The one thing everyone appears to agree on is that the KC registered dogs are whippets. The dispute appears over which of the non KC registered dogs are whippets. If the KC dogs were banned the disputes are likely to continue. What interests me is why people complain AFTER the fair is over.

pigsy 34
went down to the racing on sat and seen a kc whippet race but no un reg whippet race instead i seen what looked like an under 23 race for good sake there was even a rough coated dog in this race and as you can see from pics on here of the winner i think anyone that knows what a whippet looks like knows that is not a whippet . you said there was going to be a kc whippet race and a non kc whippet race what happened why were these dogs alound to run in the whippet class. Maybe im wrong but i thought that a kc whippet race was for people that had papers for there whippets and a non kc was for people that didnt have papers for there WHIPPETS. Is Ernie a full bred whippet and are the pups he has sired full whippets http://www.donedeal.co.uk/for-sale/dogs/1111364
chartpolski 23,562
Dessie, that's the way to go with the racing . As for the showing, unfourtunately, the "Working dog" class is allways the biggest at any show, even though 99% of the dogs have not done a days work in their lives !! I was judging a class once, and asked the lady owner "what work does your dog do" and she replied"he chases squirrels in the park" !!!! You can only take people at their word and hope the judge knows a working dog from a show dog, although this isn't allways possible !! I personally think there shouldn't be a "working dog class"; aren't they ALL suppossed to be workers ? Cheers.
