lapin2008 1,587
At that age you should be OK, especially if he is just running over just trying to play, just correct when he shows any sign of going for it or interest in it. That said, about a month ago my bullx killed one of my wifes cats.... so its not an exact science.... lol..However this was an adult dog that had come to stay with me at a year + so had not been introduced early on, my pup who has grown up around them is cool with them (the wifes cats anyway) Quote Link to post
Shazza 52
Best to introduce them to cats as young as possible especially your own cats, still not too late but keep a close eye on them. Quote Link to post
mikeball 108
Should i be concerned about her lack of pray drive Quote Link to post
lapin2008 1,587
no mate, just a puppy seeing another furry thing and wanting to play with it. Mine did similar stuff when he was the same age and got corrected for it, as long as the pup and cats grow up together they will be fine. ferreted rabbits at his age if you want to figure if he is keen yet (but even if he is not bothered he is still young anyway) 1 Quote Link to post
THLpatrick 555
My whippet grew up with my cat, loved her trying to the play, cat hates him scratches him, still pup wants to play, my new puppy is 10x worse loves the cat and trying to play and yet again she hates her, but my whippet is still game for any rabbits/hare/rat anything it can chase, in my opinion a dog broken to cats is always a + Quote Link to post
