skycat 6,173
Look at it this way Dances: there will be countless people who eventually read this thread. Some of them won't have even got their first lurcher when they read this. They will think that this is acceptable practice, and follow your example, and think, mistakenly, that the hare is a piss easy target. If everyone went out killing leverets in summer, do the maths........OK, so you have a lot of hares where you live, and maybe their numbers are not in decline, but surely you can see the sense of not posting stuff like this as it will only encourage those who are even more ignorant of the breeding cycles of wild mammal to do the same. The lurcher world has enough enemies as it is, please don't add to the shame that people who don't respect their quarry are already bringing upon us. I'm sure you think I'm an old has been, but I've seen places where the hares were run all summer before: guess what, there ain't no hares there now! Doesn't take a genius to figure out why. 1 Quote Link to post

Totally agree. I've took a look at the first photo's exif data and it was taken on the 12/9/2007 at 07.28.03 sec thats september (if the time and date were right on the camera) You do have to be so so careful as everyone has access to this info and the authorities can get you ip address at the touch of a button which is as good as your address. Seeing posts like this reminds me why i opted to keep just whippets, i've got much more permission as farmers don't consider whippets to be rouge dogs that will attack there livestock.. morton 5,368
I don't see why people have a problem with the post, his dogs cannot catch daytime hares, even in summer,on their own. Thus he lamps leverets doubled up,how else is the lad supposed to catch anything and impress others. I always phone the rossers now when i'm going lamping either shooting or running the dogs and get an incident number, that way if they get any reports they know it's me. Saves them coming out or pulling me on the way home Quote Link to post

undisputed 1,664
it was written months ago if you took your head out of your ass! Its an old story from when I was younger and as for eating the hares, yes I do it whilst I laugh at your pointless articles![/ Prob best you ask for the post to be removed before you dig yourself a bigger hole. Maybe instead of slagging folk of who have been in the game longer than you and have more sense you could act a bit more sensible. As it's already Been pointed out in the current climate not a good idea to post pics of hares lamped or otherwise. Use your head Quote Link to post
