Sounds to me that he knows someone whos had their dogs took away for maybe illegal hunting and has a prosecution pending? Now they're looking for advice from anyone this has happened to and had their dogs returned or not???

my mates got done last year and have not got there dogs back. they are up in april and one of there hunting lawyers told them that if they are found not guilty and the dogs were not showing signs of being ill treated then they will get them back. but it looks verey very slim of them getting them back. when they raided there houses one of ma mates lurcher pups had an anti bark muzzle on and they took the dog away saying it was cruel on the dog.

hi. a few years ago i had dogs taken from my kennels {illegally} by them. they started prosecutions and i contacted barry peachy out or what was then the shooting news. he put me in contact with a Mr Granville Rooley who had a very good reputation in dealing with rspca. they had no evidence whatso ever of illegal digging activities and after about 2 months we managed to track my dogs down to a kennel in sussex 300 miles away. we arranges a meeting for a saturday at the kennels to view my dogs as other men have had their dogs returned in a shockinh condition. all was going well until we recieved a call on the friday to say the dogs had been put to sleep that morning due to their injuries{ 9 weeks or so after they had been taken}. i was advised to carry on and prosecute the rspca as they had been taken without consent and they had no photographs of evidence but i was working and no legal aid was availlable. this rates at the time ( about 1991} were over £100 a hour. so i never did just put it down to bad experience. one dog was 8 years old and had a hard working life which then wes totally legal. Mr Rooley was based in bradford but have no number sorry. my advise is to also put it down to bad experience as the society seem to get away with it no matter what. good luck

if you have been arrested then it becomes a criminal offence and you will get legal aid always use it to the max

had my dog taken from me out off the Subaru one night early last year scars on his face i was arrested under the 2004 hunting act plus unnecessary suffering to a dog got released on delayed charge next day and they kept the dog got intouch with solicitor in earth dog running dog (welsh couldnt under stand half he said) anyway he had retired vet said it would cost me £250 for the vet to go see it (best £250 id spent and i had to pay in cash before shed see it) vet goes looks at it in rspca kennels in middlesbrough said in her report scars look likely to be caused by a cat which id said to her what had happened broken the lead and and attacted a cat she explained that with out been charged the rspca are allowed to keep the dog for six months but arranged for me to see the dog on my return to answer delayed charge i was interviewed by rspca and one copper to which i made no reply and showed them the vets report and her opinion of 30 years of been a vet

i saw my dog in the police compound flanked by three coppers he was bouncing all over me anyway delayed charged goes back again same again interviewed no reply and released on delayed charge 4 and half months after arrest and dog taken gets a letter there not proceeding and i dont after answer to delayed charge so flys up to police station want my dog back cant give you it back rspca have got it gets intouch with rspca who they call area inspector look no charges want the dog back no thats the police we might still be going a head with it gets back in touch with the vet (she was better than the solicitor) she tells me they will just pass you from pillar to post but she phoned and sent them a letter reminding them that they can only keep the dog six months without charge

anyway one day before the six months was up i went to the police station to pick my dog up no apologies nothing the law/system is on there sides i have know people who havnt had there dogs back as they say had to put it down through an injury in the kennels one mate theyed castrated his dog so im lucky to get him back

oh and when on the night before i was arrested the copper said to me have you got permission i said yes for rabbiting (which i have) so i told her where get them off my case so when im locked up the cheeky twat goes to the farmer and said do you know they where hunting foxes on your land so the farmer took the permission away so now when i get pulled (cos the whole country is my permission) i go yes ive got permission and im not telling you where cos last time i told one of you lot they went and complained to the farmer and i lost my permission if theres a problem lock me up if not im on my way officer have a nice night
