nicola1804 114
Im pretty certain my bitch is in pup to my partners saluki bull grey. She was coming out of season as had been in well over 3 weeks. We were going to a show on the sunday so he brought 2 dogs over to find out they were pestering her so kept her in the house. We took them for a walk keeping her on the lead and well i turned round to see his dog on her while he had ahold of the lead. He was only on her for a few seconds and with my luck being my luck I now think she is pregnant. I wouldnt care I had just found the perfect dog for her for in a few years time when i would want a pup. Yes I did think about the injection but thought it was highley unlikely that she would be pregnant. Does anyone think this could poss be a phantom her appetite hasnt changed to much but she has swollen teats?. Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
You can get an injection that stops the pregnancy. I got it for my lab [bANNED TEXT] she got caught by a stray dog in the back garden Better to be safe than sorry or deal with the pups. I'd just get the jag Edited August 3, 2011 by Veedublee Quote Link to post

6pack 60
You mean she was caught 6 weeks ago?? Firstly - take her to the vets and have the pregnancy confirmed, maybe a scan if she is to date and give you a rough litter number. Then, if she is, you have 3 options as I can see. 1. Have puppies, Rehome puppies. 2. Have puppies. Cull puppies. 3. Abort puppies. Could be hard. Some vets won't do the op this close to delivery and it can have detrimental effects on the bitch being so far through. Fingers crossed it's a phantom. Quote Link to post

Was the presa an accidental mating as well? Think you'd have learned the first time .... Quote Link to post
Guest born to run1083
I'd hate to say it but in these circumstances with you struggling to rehome the others and still getting people bringing the other pups back, do you really want to have your bitch brought down by these pups just as seasons gonna start plus has the bitch even earnt the right to be bred, wouldn't of thought you be stupid enough to let this happen again as post above said you still have options and as you've failed her as an owner you could dig into your pocket and resolve the situation at the vets and learn from these multiple mistakes and not let it happen again Quote Link to post

Thanks I know the options I wasnt sure if a vet would abort when so far on but will look into it. Quote Link to post

How can you have 2 dogs onlead and still not know what they are doing? Just waiting for you to post pics of the sire cos I'm really hoping that this cocked up story is all just an attempt at free publicity. Quote Link to post
Richie10 345
They won't usually abort them and the process can affect the bitch very badly. Best to have the pups and cull them if you don't want them. Why don't you get it confirmed by the vet by either a scan or getting the him to feel for them. You can get pants for the bitch which will prevent accidents such as these but won't help if they are left with a dog for long periods. Quote Link to post
