Nice bit of Pre season

Recommended Posts

nice one rob looks like you had a good night there mate, some nice long grass there to slow the bunnys down, thats what you want this time of year , when the dogs are out of condition.

Hey up TOMO, hope your well. It was nice to be out. Especially for Flyn. Feck me some if the fields he hunted in the grass was over his head. But then again, some fields were fast fields..... And as you have seen, Flyn isn't built for straight lining, just dirty snatch and grabs along the hedgelines.....:)

Some one else asked about doubles and single. Because it was warm, we needed to rotate dogs a lot. So mainly single running, although Flyn ran with another on a couple of farms. I have no problem with that.

There were two young lurchers, the outer dogs in the photo and these were only run solo. They know what the lamp is about and run well for it too, but the need the discipline and confidence only solo running can develop, and in fairness, they caught most of the rabbits.

It's wasn't a night meant for quality, not for me and Flyn anyway, just some cobwebs off and some meat to take home. Flyn achieved that no probe as he always does running on the lamp, and I got to see some nice youg lurchers running,...I am sure they wil coninue to develop and learn as the months go by.

Cheers
