You've only had the dog a month, my thoughts would be that it's starting to get comfortable enough in your presence to start pushing you to see where it's boundaries lie.

I'd advise spending as much time as you can trying to gently but firmly assert your authority over the dog while away from the field. You need to ensure the dog knows it's place.

how is the dogs retreiving in an enclosed environment ie the garden, personally i wouldnt have the dog out running this early after getting it, i would still be bonding with it making sure as mentioned before that it knows its place and it knows im the boss. im sure your eager to see if the dog does what you have been told and your getting a glimpse that it does. go back to basics for a bit play with the dog get it retreiving consistantly in the garden or small enclosure. hope this helps.

i would think if she brought the first few back to hand when you first got her ,that now that she been there a while and she's stopped ,looks to me like its your relationship with her that has caused it , either your lamping with a buddy and his mutt as well or she hasn't made a connection with you in her mind,

plenty of one on one contact, ball play, tug, anything that get her tail up and smiling, ,dont tell her off for making any form of contact that includes jumping up, play , hand feeding helps as well ,if you can stomach it,,basically anything which causes a favorable reaction from her ,,best of luck

She can do it, she has shown you she can.

I would stop running her for a while, you are just reinforcing bad habits every time you approach and take a bun from her.

Go back to basics, use a weighted dummy. Don't throw it out too far from you. Let her go off for it. If she doesn't come back to you, walk away from her - she should follow you - tell her to bring it or what ever commands you use. When she does get to you, don't lunge straight for the dummy, let her come in and praise, stroke, good gal.....then take the dummy from her, praising as you go. Jolly, happy, tones all the way, make it fun, playing together, working together. Chipmunk stylee

did you see the dog do full nights work? or just a couple of runs

this could be the reason it was sold? iv'e seen older dogs do it (7/8yrs)

not stopped but have been reluctant towards the end of a hard night

once they get into the habit its hard to break, but the dog could be picking up

on your frustration and not want to come into you
