Hob&Jill 258
Great design, What programme where you using? Not that I would ever be able to use it just wondering lol One suggestion though, maybe it would make things easier if you also included a door in in run area, then you wouldnt have to go through the kennel everytime. You keeping the Shepherd in there or geting a lurcher? Good luck with the build, H&J Edited March 7, 2007 by Hob&Jill Quote Link to post

porkypowell 2
That is a good design and easy to build with the use of a standard garden shed. Might I be so bold as to make some suggestions? I would install a drain in the centre of the run section and if possible take it into the sewerage system of the house and while the trench is open install an armoured cable to run electricity and water if possible. You might not need it now but if you do its there. If you can `t access the sewerage system run the waste pipe to a soak away. A Local builder could advise on the finer details and do the labour yourself but get the professionals to the connection to the house. I know it sounds extravagant but do it correctly from the beginning, as altering in the future will be costly. Regarding the design I would include a cadge on the front of the shed so the ferret and dogs can be at eye level. Leave the ferret cadge where it is as that gives you good access to clean and feed just build a wire cadge on the outside of the shed in the dog run with access to the cadge inside the shed. (hope that makes sense) I remember making my first run, not as good as yours will be but very exciting times. I am now in my 30 `s and a builder, my next run will be brick and block cavity wall, tiled floor with all services with enough room for me to have a chair & fridge so I can hide from the boss and have a smoke and a beer with my dogs while she watches the latest chick flick. Think about it its only the same as building a garge. Simon I wish you luck and sure young pup will be happy in his pad Edited March 7, 2007 by porkypowell Quote Link to post

hedgehunter 0
hi mate looks good - it will keep your dog in... but what about keepin theiving b*****ds out - looks like fencing wire you are thinkin of using.. bad idea.. where are you going to site this kennel ? in this day and age the best place would be inside your house ! seriously think about the security...
