Bassy 1
Hi thinking about getting one of these, only after rabbits, nothing else. Is this a good mix? Also don't want a great big dog. Size matters. When time comes will get a bitch pup, already have a bitch jack russel, is there going to be problems? Or do I need I need a dog. Any advice is good. Or is another dog cross better for me. Would love to see the above pics of this cross please. Quote Link to post

ban is just a word 43
no better cross forrabbits than a 1st cross beddy whippet mines a ryt game little f****r excels on rabbit. mad for rats and tries too tackle bigger stuff just not heavy enough. have a good hard think about wat yu want one for though mate as lurchers can live upto 14 or more years and although you want one for just rabbiting now as you progress on you might want too move onto a bigger nastier quarry ... basically im saying donrush into the wrong dog for your needs Quote Link to post
aj_ginger 1
My 1st cross beddy whippet is 18 months and started taking rabbits at a year. He has a lot to learn still but I think this winter will be the making of him. My advice is to you is to be patient with them, don't be in too much of a rush to get him on any sort of larger game. Good luck! Edited August 2, 2011 by aj_ginger Quote Link to post
