My New Ferret house

Thanks for all the reply's guys. Yeah really pleased with it! As I said before it wasn't me who made it. But the guy said it took him a while to do. The decking doesn't have anything to seel them though they are so close the holes between are tiny, can hardly see a gap, in the bed area the walls have extra panel's of ply on the inside of the decking to make sure they stay warm and dry in the winter.

Wasn't too hard to move actually, All the draws are removable so took them all out to lighten the load then the 4ft and 6ft , can be separated which fit on the back of a trailer, the roof came off as luckily not felt roofing, will be nice not to have to keep replacing that its all bolted on with plastic covers. When putting back together panel's of wood were drilled on where the two hutches meet though the gap between them was mm so didn't really need it the guy measured every piece out so well, but he is a carpenter.

Every screw is galvanised. between them is a washer so that they can move and won't loosen too much over time on the doors.

The springs to hold the bottles on are great! Can't believe I've bothered getting the wire around the bottle all this time which is horribly fiddly when your hands are numb in the cold winter months, now takes seconds to put into place.

...makes me realise how low quality the hutches bought from some pet shops are. Before this I had shop bought hutches and I had to replace roof within couple of months. The wood had to be replaced on back as it was rotting even though I painted it straight away, and really wasn't thought out well. Really recommend making it yourself or buying from someone who knows what they are doing! :)
