Imo a dog needs to know early on in its foxing career what its up against...its alright molly coddeling it..but what happensd when it comes up against a decent fox??havin had it easy for a while my guess is it would throw the towel in...start as you mean to go on and get the dog out there amongst it..atb stabba

is it beneficial to build up to foxes with smaller things that bite back first? rats, squirrels, mink etc. or is the deep end the best way? wouldn't it be a case of if you threw it in at the deep end against a particularly tough fox you might have ruined a dog that could have been good otherwise? surely if their first experience with a fox was a bit of a pasting then they'd never go near them again? I know nothing about this by the way so don't think I'm saying you're wrong or anything, just asking questions.
