HUnter_zero 58
i av got some cat fruntline can i use it on me ferrets :guitar: I think you will find that both cat and dog BASIC Frontline contains Fipronil which is a general and very safe insecticide. The newer Frontline products contain two different insecticides IIRC one of which CAN NOT be used on ferrets. I certainly use fipronil on my ferrets and dogs, in fact I did last night! Think this year is going to be a bad one for fleas. John Edited July 30, 2011 by HUnter_zero Quote Link to post

Malt 379
I have always been advised not to use cat medication on ferrets. Ferrets are more closely related to dogs than they are cats... I'd advise the use of frontline spray rather than the spot on treatment. The best way to apply this is to put a surgical examination glove on one hand and hold the ferret firmly in the other. Get someone to pump a few sprays of the treatment into the palm of the gloved hand, and work it into the ferret against the direction the hair's lying in - from front to back. Quote Link to post
HUnter_zero 58
I can get this over the counter right? Cheaper to order on line, think the Mrs paid 17 or so pounds for a 'large dog' pack. What I do is to use a whole vial on my Collie 'X', half on my Whippet and on drop on each ferret. I think there were six vials in the pack, so that's 3 - 4 months of flea & tick prevention.
