hullhunter 219
well i bred a litter 2 1/2 years ago and only kept back one pup for my self (my blue bullx bitch) and she has not made the grade im looking for so she is going to have to go. i have given her chance after chance on teeth and she just dont want to know i cant fault the dog on any other quarry. im gutted as i like the bitch and have been putting back selling her. but the time has come i just cant give her any more chances.as ive got other dogs that are doing the bizz that are not getting run because ive been spending all my time with her. gutted. so has anyone else bred a litter and the one/one's you kept back not made the standard you were looking for? TAXI DRIVER 549
Is she interested when doubled up or does she take a back seat? Quote Link to post
stabba 10,745
If folk are honest then they,ll tell you that not every dog they breed make the grade....not saying the ones they keep back dont work but odds on 1 or 2 from the litter wont reach their expectations..atb stabba 1 Quote Link to post
hullhunter 219
Is she interested when doubled up or does she take a back seat? she goes like a bat out of hell and leads the chase for them both doubled and single she is all over them but she just will not take them. ive ran her doubled and she runs them all over the feald till the other dog takes them and i ran her on her own and she was all over it but took a long time to take it and when she finly did she didnt realy want to know she was dragging it about by its tail but every time it turned round she let go then grabed it by the tail again after about 5 min she did grab it by the back and give it a shake but then left it.(it was not dead) Edited July 29, 2011 by hullhunter Quote Link to post

Guest born to run1083
In reality I would of thought this post would of been rammed as in my opinion even in the best of litters if you get half to turn out as average workers or better then thats a good litter, we all know it's look of the draw even if we try our best by breeding from the best and so on to help swing it to become a promising litter but this isn't always the case, but this is thl the dream world everyone has world beaters and we always breed the best 1 Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
Personally I prefer to work to my dogs strengths and around their weaknesses. I enjoy working the dogs and im not particularly focused on any particular discipline, if they do one thing better than another then I focus on what they're best at. That way they get to excel at what they are good at and i enjoy it rather than getting frustrated trying to force them to be something they are not. Just a thought, not suggesting it would appeal to everyone. 1 Quote Link to post
