Gaz_1989 9,539
I've got a load of horse meat in the freezer, it's quality meat, minced, very little fat. It goes straight through the dogs if fed raw on it's own so I've been cooking it up with some veg and rice. Is it likely to mess with the ferrets guts aswell or do you think they will stomach it okay? Thanks Gaz Quote Link to post
steve209 3
Ferrets poop is normally loser with the raw food anyway but I wouldn't see why raw horse meat would give them the trots (no pun intended) Try them on a small portion first and see how they go. Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Cheers for reply. I gave them a bowl yesterday and they loved it. There crap is about as runny as always and just a bit darker. They will be getting plenty of the stuff from now on, along with day old chicks Gaz Quote Link to post
DogMagic 461
Sounds handy to me if its a reliable source. I would be carefull about cooking it. The dogs will probably be ok with it, just need to wean them onto it gradually same as any new munch. Quote Link to post
Guest jt750
Horse flesh is very rich and even a flesh fed dog might likely end up with the sh1ts ..if you want to feed raw feed less with more bone Quote Link to post
