long dogs 580
There's more rabbits than grass here. You can't beat a good dog that can take a healthy number of rabbits per night/day and not to carry an injury is a bonus. more bunnys than grass were you live

Moll. 1,770
You wanna try owning a bull x without scars Rob. I only hunt food i can eat (Usually) Have had the odd fox/feral cat over the years, but not something i deliberately go out to hunt. If there was a need to control the fox numbers here and i was asked i would gladly do it, but i live in a well keeper'd area so there is no need. I often get asked "does that dog work" purely based on the fact he has no facial scars What do people reckon works harder......A dog which goes out and gets say 3 fox/deer per night, or a dog which gets 30 rabbits? I luv bunny bashing as well as the next man but given a choice of a dog that takes 3 fox/deer a day i know what i would have I didn't mean one or the other Just pointing out it is hard work for dogs to get big bags of rabbits
Ideation 8,216
It's not just about what you catch, but how you catch it. Lamping by definition, is i suppose hunting, in that you catch game. But the dogs aint hunting, they are chasing shit. Same as folk, a lot of those who catch stuff, couldnt hunt their way out of a damp paper bag. Stick em somewhere without a lamp and they would starve to death.

So all lampers are not hunters.........what a load of bollocks! And I suppose ferreting without a dog isn't hunting either then? After all your just walking round chucking ferrets down shit!
