Pumper dog 0
Does anyone know anything about inducing a bitches season? I've heard of it with farm stock and race horses but not dogs. Can it be done, is it detremental to a bitch's health? what are the costs? What are peoples thoughts? I know it is not natural.
parkstone 24
it can be done with hormon jabs/tablets, I know 2 people that had it done to their whippet bitchs, both went to proven stud dogs but neither produced a litter. not sure of the cost.

Guest JDF
exactly as the above, had a couple of guys come at different times for a service from an old dog of mine, both bitches had been artificially brought on neither had pups.waste of time imo.
Guest Lurcherbitch
Try getting it near a bitch already in season as it can sometime's bring another bitch in before she is due..Millet Yup can vouch for this....got three bitches in season now
Pumper dog 0
thanks for the reply's people. confirmed my thoughts really, had her in with one of my in season terrier bitches but never worked. I'm not too fussed just somebody the other day mentioned th epossibilities as my bitch usually only comes into season in July, the dog I want to use is getting on in years!! and I only have the one lurcher so timing is quite important but i certainly do not want to risk any health problems!! thanks again

jigsaw 11,891
I'm 2 years waiting for a bitch to come into season,in 9 years shes come into season 3 times.I've given up hope of getting a litter out of her now.Shes kennelled next to a bitch that just went out of season 2 weeks ago, nothing happened yet.I wouldnt go down the road of injecting her to bring her in,I just have to accept she wont be a moma again. Guest bezza
Women are like bitches( in more ways than one). Women confined together like nuns or girls in the army, even mother and daughters tend to menstruate at the same time. I wouldn't like to be around nuns at that awkward time of the month-turn you into father jack.
