Rik 49
I was walking the dogs today passed some allotments and just happened to see some chickens on them so I took a detour on to them, as i walked through them I could see that there was chicken/geese and ducks and pigeon lofts all over on diferent plots I saw this women feeding her chickens so I said to her do you have any problems with rats and she said yes there all over the place Im bloody sick of um so I asked her if I could bring the dogs on and get rid of a few for her and she said oh yes please love within 5mins it had spread around the allotments and every single person on the allotments wanted me to clear the rats from there plot Ive got to see the secutary in morning to introduce myself to him so again it just shows you that you guys who are looking to start out ratting all you have to do is ask the right people good result Quote Link to post

skycat 6,174
Nice one. I got asked to have a look round some allotments: trouble was they had an allotment cat, semi feral, that lived there: they said they would shut it in a shed for safety, but forgot Oh dear! No more allotment cat. Didn't get asked back again. Quote Link to post

I've always found cats are pretty crap at getting rid of rats, they'll catch mice and birds but I think rats are a bit too much for most cats to deal with, they don't like getting bitten. skycat 6,174
Laughed a lot at your replies :D and it wasn't even a terrier that got it, but my old lurcher I'd taken along for the ride: one quick shake and it was an ex cat The allotment people were very good about it though, but I heard they started putting poison down after that! And there weren't many rats anyway, so maybe poor moggie was doing the job ok after all. Quote Link to post
