The only time I carried on through the summer was when I had ferrets but nothing heavy just the odd bunny couple of times a week

each to their own mate yes id heard the saying only hunt when theirs an r in the moth but we all no the climate as changed and sum times theweather is a lot warmer now than back when hunting wasnt a hobby but a way and means of living personaly ithink that if you poaching for meat to put on table then yes do it when the chances of getting milky doe or in young rabbits then do it in winter months but if you doing it as i suggest most on here are as a hobby then why not hunt when you fancy it people frown on hunting out of season but my view is do it when and where you can as you never no what tommorrow brings

I agree September is a good start for the season, anyone going for serious kills through the summer months should be ashamed,as I've said before no one rates a summertime dog!!

brambles mate i dont do hunting to get numbers mate just to get out with me dogs yes we all like to say we got double figures on gear mate been their dun that to me its not the catching its quality time out with dogs nice to get the odd few fresh ones for the dogs and hawks but as to the statement of not rating summer dogs a good dog is a good dog what evertime of the year the dog only doing what comes natural hunting do foxes or any predatory animal stop hunting in summer i think not i no youll say thats diffrent but man are hunter gatheres and if we still had to depend on wild food we wouldnt be stopping thats for sure and wild animals expect to be preyed on at any time of the year or they all be fat as fck lying their with not a care in the world they fit any time of the year or they dead thats the way of nature
