wirral countryman 2,110
In answer to your question ryan,95% of plummer's don't see foxwork but there is a hardcore of people still working them on what they were bred for,100% all round intelligent working terrier,I don't mean some of those big monster's paraded round the show rings loking like a beagle but decent sized spannable terrier's bred for work, you just got to know where to look, atb, wirralman Quote Link to post

wirral countryman 2,110
Redneck, they were originally bred as an all round terrier, many were loaned out to huntsmen,I was given my first 2 of Plummer himself in 1980 to try out as he struggled with size, they were just like russell's really, the standard he wrote was 12"-14" TTS and spannable, that was in there for a reason ie:earthwork, all his early stuff went to ground easilly and it was only after he became ill and other people took over that the ratting people took over by forming Plummer associations and clubs, middle class ownership followed as the prices increased, women started shows just for them and the rest is history, this is how the breed ended up in the state it did, this is why running the correct lines for work is so important, also why you will not see a lot of the right type at shows,we breed for work and they breed for coat patterns and pretty looks, hope this goes some way to helping you understand your mis-conception,wirralman Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
Gravel, you really are a plonker,I take it your just a young boy on the wind up,that pic is of my old dog "DANNY" who is being replaced by the bitch out of my present litter, the pups are only 4 and a half weeks old and I had my choice out of 9,I don't choose a pup by looks but by many things and I am quite happy with my choice,in the unlikely event of you ever taking your pretty boy out you will be very upset by the bites he recieves, and a swollen head will look lovely on him and it may even swell to your own gargantuan proportions.I doubt your dog is of the right breeding to do any serious work or you would of shouted it from the rooftops and if you are anything like the person you come across as on here then anyone of note will not give you much time, calm down and try to make friends of people instead of enemies you know little or nothing about,I look forward to seeing your post's asking for help later in the year when you realise that he's not all you thought, plummer's take careful entering sometimes and will easilly see past your obvious lack of experience, atb, wirralman Quote Link to post
