Foxes are a problem with poly grainbags. As you know, they like to climb on and leave deposits on the highest thing around. At about 5' high, the grain bags are the highest thing around, but they are slippery, so Mr Fox has to dig his sharp little claws in.As the storage of grain relies on the skin being moisture, gas and insect-proof, you can understand my lack of appreciation.

Not methods that bring a warm glow to a dog-man's heart, but whatever it takes,.

Shorty is still convinced that it wouldn't happen without her help.

..... and yes, that is a privately owned fire-fighting unit. Multipurpose.

Back to topic, I find that foxes will camp anywhere there is shelter and cover. If a row of hay-rolls provide it - and a few mice into the bargain - they'll use it.

Pre-ban we used to have some great results around farms that stacked up the round bales,we once took 5 in as many minutes on one particular farm, all bolted to either the lurcher's or shotgun, one terrier will not pressure them enough to bolt in a large stack though, you've got to know your terrier's and a rock hard stayer could give you problems if they stick high up,we used mainly plummer's or russells that could be called out if necessary,I can only recall one which the terrier killed high up and we had a right job getting up and into where it was,and it had been dead a bit by the time we reached it,a lot of hunts leave them out stacked up 3 high for this reason on hunt land, its an easy place for a bolt if they take cover in them, atb, wirralman

Bales are also kept in barns in the winter lol.....

I had my first fox with a terrier from a bale stack.... Small bales then... And have had plenty from then since.... Where I grew up there would be Dutch barns on the fields and very rarely visited by the farmer... Not much cover either... So when the hard frosts and rain hit, they were like a magnet for foxes... 5 is the most we have bolted out of the one stack.... I still have a place I go too.... stone barn with a soil floor... And have at least one or two a season from it...
