i remember watching it aswell, was a sad day for scottish football, would be interesting to know the answer to your question about the managers being born only 20 miles away from each other, i think it was more than that, will be interesting all the same

20 miles might not be far wrong then. i think i remember watching a programme about shankly and the place he came from doesn't exist anymore, all the buildings knocked or fell down, all the pits closed down and all the people moved away.

No matter if its 25 or 35 miles the fact is boys thats a remarkable statistic that 4 of the greatest managers in the history of the game came from the same area.....must be something in the water up there.

Great win for Celtic yesterday, I wasn't looking forward to that game. I never saw it but listened on the gettoblaster. I don't know why cos they so called expert pundits do my head in. One who will remain nameless came out with the classic, I tip rangers to win the league cos they have the same team as last season and will be more settled  yes they won the league on the last day but we had a new manager and a new team. This season we have a manager who has experience managing in the spl, who isn't up against arguably one of the best managers to grace Scottish football and if I'm not mistaken, our team hasn't changed much either. Whereas rangers have a new owner, new rookie manager, the same mediocre players and contrary to paper talk, very little money to spend. No more pulling rabbits out the hat, no more wyly old tactics and as the booing at ibrox proved, not off to a good start either.

them mediocre players have stop yous winning the title pass 3 seasons on the bounce...wan game ffs dont count yer chickens yet.....and super ally got more spl experience than whole ginger bollocks    judge at the end of a season no at the start....typical tim

Euro dream hanging by a thread now...will coisty

even make it till Xmas :whistling:

I was told earlier today that George Graham,Jim Mclean,Tommy Docherty and Craig Brown were all born within that same 25 mile radius.......im not suggesting these were on that same level of greatness......just strikes me as an amazing little statistic thats all  ......Thats now 9 or 10 who managed at the very highest level 4 or 5 of which would go on any world list of all time greats.............all born within 25 miles of each other !.....Unbelievable really.
