Guest THE BEATNICK
Since Ibrox is a translation of Gaelic "the crossing of the Badger" shoudn,t they dump the bear and have BILLY BROCK instead as a mascot.Celtic could have a big Fox,after the cemetery fox that used to visit sometimes in the middle of the game..Hoopy whats that about ? JUST a guess but could it be because of the hoops round their football tops. but i dont know the answer in gaelic

baw 4,360
We both know that isn't true scothunter, no need to make up lies to disparage the finest manager to grace these shores. Just out of interest.....what order would you Scots put the top 5 or so managers in order of greatness, out of i suppose..... 1.Stein 2.Ferguson 3.Shankly 4.Busby 5.Smith Cant think who else would fit into a top 5 but by all means add your own I'd have them in the same order you have just put them Gnasher. Smith wouldnt be rubbing shoulders with them though, mediocre at best. As for stein, definitely no1. He takes over Celtic in 65, wins the league 66, goes on to win the European cup the following year. A cup which before Celtic won it, was only ever won by the Spanish. Italians and portugese. Did he sacrifice other competitions to win it? Hell no, Celtic won every competition they entered that year. That's title, Scottish cup, league cup, European cup and even the Glasgow cup, all won the Celtic way. All players born within 30 miles of Celtic park. No big named foreigners like now. He then guided Celtic to 9 league titles in a row at a time when Scottish football was a lot stronger than it is today. 3 years after winning the European cup, Celtic got to the final again, only to be beaten 2-1 by feyenoord. A very impressive record by Anyones standards, especially considering he grew up in a staunch rangers family.
