johndogs 7
thanks for all your help guys its a collie lurcher it is Quote Link to post
rocky1 942
i,m not a 100% on them ,if any wants 2 see what a colliex is like on the lamp have a look on the hunting clips ,stalking rabbits ,walking up 2 rabbits i,ve seen this type of behavier twice with colliex i,m not saying all them are like this ,just some are Quote Link to post
pukerk 161
5/8 collie 3/8 greyhound Quote Link to post
kevin kiely 66
might not be enough greyhound in it,it could turn out to much like a collie.keep looking id say Quote Link to post
DogMagic 461
5/8 collie 3/8 greyhound I would rather those percentages the other way round myself. I run a border collie x greyhound x bierdy collie x greyhound. Hes a f*****g good dog and hese fed me a few times when i needed it. Every x has its knockers and every x has its devotees. If i could go back in time to when i was offered mine as a pup i would still say yes. Yes he has stalked in to rabbits on the lamp before but so what? He still catches them. Im interested in results, and my full belly and freezer is the result i want. 5/8 in faver of the collie wouldnt be MY choice, i think it wouldnt be fast enough or agile enough. Quote Link to post
kevin kiely 66
collie is the way to go for catch rate in my experience, but with at least half grey Quote Link to post
rocky1 942
stalking might be ok for some people but i want my dogs 2 get up at their quarry,i,m not knocking colliex their some splended colliex out their just seen some right crap ones same with all x but this is my least favorite lurcher Quote Link to post
johnny boy68 11,726
Seen a few reverse x's really excel at ferreting and one that was a handy lamper, running clever can put a few rabbits in the bag on the lamp. The dog was excellant on rough uneven ground due the amount of collie blood in it........they wouldn't be the type I'd go for but used to there strentghs and they can make handy dogs.
