PlasticJock 539
After recieving my SGC earlier this year, I was told by my FEO to wait 'at least a year' before applying for my FAC, mainly to prove I am responsible. The problem is that now I have a real need to own a firearm, due to the fact that I'm working on a very large estate with the gamekeeper. So the way I see it, I have a need, not a want, to apply for my FAC and I'm going to have to do it soon. I get a feeling I may get blown out but I'll appeal it, what do you all think? If there's a need then they can't really refuse it. Quote Link to post
wabbit slayer 16
Yes I think you have a good reason for your application. But i would contact your local fire arms officer and explain it to them and see what they say, think some times it depends upon your location and what area you are under. Good luck anyway. Water Badger 26
you should not have a problem with rimfire, they may request you are mentored for a centre fire. dont wait get it in you have good grounds its your livleyhood! thats like saying leave it a year before taking your trailer test after you passed driving test its all about them feeling more comfortable about you join BASC if they reject it pass it to Basc. good luck Quote Link to post
PlasticJock 539
The thing is I've got 10+ years experience with firearms, the reason I am ''supposed'' to wait is because I was in a bit of bother a few years back with the police etc. I think I just need to put it in and take the plunge Quote Link to post

The only difference is you need to prove to require each firearm for a specific task...... It sounds like they would struggle to refuse you.... If ou are a member of BASC..... Id go for it....
