im unsure on what rimfire rifle and scope to get, its just for stopping rabbits, i like the idea of having a thumbhole in the stock as well, ill have around 500 to play with, i dont wanna go down the .17 route, had a play with a cz .22 and liked it

Anschutz 1417? I know CZ are now doing a version of the 452 with a thumbhole stock.

I had the same problem too, have a look at the cz 455 varmit with thumb hole stock in 22lr. Great rifle think my local gun shop had them in for around £400. But if you just want a general rabbit gun plenty of Brno 22lr's around for around £100.

I've used .22 Lr Ruger's semi auto and bolt action for just about thirty years now; I'm on gun number four, polycarbonate stock, stainless steel short barrel for use with a mod from a Land Rover, 10 round box clip or a 30 round banana clip for that added fun.

.....easy enough to pick up one second hand for £150 and spend the rest of the money on a decent scope.
