staffs riffraff 1,068
think if lee murray would of gone to a gym where they would of focused on his technical and kicking ability probably take a few easier fights well not someone like andersin silva then he could of gone far if you ask me

scent 509
Personally i dont think Lee Murray would have been technically good enough at the very highest level of the sport....he was an extremely violent man with a fearsome reputation locally and earned good money fighting before he had ever stepped into a cage or ring.....I remember seeing him fight as a kid maybe 16/17 against grown men with good fighting backgrounds it was probably comparable to watching Beckham play football as a kid or watching Elton John play the piano......it was obvious even to the untrained eye that this was a kid that fighting came very natural to. He was such a rough and wild tearaway sort of kid he just wanted to fight and build a reputation on the street...it wasnt till he realised the money that could be made that he walked into a gym.As regards the thing with Tito Ortiz theres all different versions of the same story but im told the version Pat Miletich described ( who was standing 5 feet away ) was the true one. Another great fight was Royce Gracie and Kimo ? not sure his surname....I think it was the first serious test Gracie had....back in the days when ufc was almost a proper fight ! Kimo Leopoldo? I dont really know about all that.....i first heard about him around 95/96 at a guess he was getting a bit of a reputation round south east london i think he was off the estates in plumstead or thamesmead that area anyway.......there was always plenty of private do,s back then probably still is now i dont know..........it was only when i saw him on a few ufc shows years later that i remembered the name.....then that robbery was talk of the town obviously. TOMO 26,067
had all those early ufc fights on vid 15 year back, good one that gracie kimo one i yoused to put them on in the bar i worked at in ibiza, lads would stand around watching whilst there women would moan and want to move on, i wone a few £££ as well , some kids thought they were live on the telly another guy i liked from back then was Igor vovchanchin, from russia, kick boxer who was very hard to ground, to be fair i dont think he did that well in ufc, but was great on the smaller les wel known mma organasitions, in todays guys , i realy like the spider anderson silva, and the french/candian kid whats his name???? i thought this guy was a good fighter in k1 sor him win a few times with very clinical skill and typical of muay thai fighters never semmed to break a sweat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buakaw_Por.Pramuk
TOMO 26,067
found this you tube page , my puter is fecking slow so i have only watched a few, but i bet there some good ones, like all the best fighters , hes very relaxed http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=buakaw+por+pramuk&aq=1&oq=bua
trappa 518
What everyone's opinions of the greatest mma fights of all time? The most satisfactory fight for me was when kimbo slice got knocked out by Seth petruzelli within 30 secs. Seth only turned up at the event to watch but ended up fighting. There's also Anderson silva vs Forrest griffin. Anderson finished it with a 2inch jab as he was backing away. Greatest has to be wanderlei silva bs chuck liddel. Slugfest an those two are hardy as fcuk! What a fight. Just seen a re-play on te tv. Your best MMA fights and mine are completely different. I dont see a one sided thrashing as a great fight but each to his own. No 1 fight. Forrest Griffin v Stephan Bonnar. No fight comes close. After that its a toss up between; Big Nog v Cro cop (pride) Paul Kelly v Paul Taylor ( i was there, excellent ) Fedor v Randleman (pride) Frank Shamrock v Cung le Ian Freeman v Frank Mir Wanderlai v Rampage (pride- the best knees EVER) Randy v Sylvia Best 1st round Paul Kelly v Paul Taylor Diaz v Daley (strikeforce)
trappa 518
Some good mma this weekend. Fedor v hendo!! - Not sure which way to call that. Fedor has dropped from being the pound for pound best to at best average the last couple of fights. Hendo is no pushover so it makes a good fight. My man Semtex is fighting same card. He always fights to win - no point scoring, i love that!!! Not sure if i will be able to watch it mind, im in benidorm on saturday so will need to find a bar.
blan89 159
1.it was over quickly with no grappling. 2.didnt have to see a very old formerly good boxer get embarrassed by getting beaten in a sport he has no background in.
gnasher16 30,049
Big Nog v Cro cop (pride) Paul Kelly v Paul Taylor ( i was there, excellent ) Fedor v Randleman (pride) Frank Shamrock v Cung le Ian Freeman v Frank Mir Wanderlai v Rampage (pride- the best knees EVER) Randy v Sylvia Best 1st round Paul Kelly v Paul Taylor Diaz v Daley (strikeforce) Must admit i dont know all of the names listed there......but im surprised to see Freeman/Mir on that list.....i was at that show if i remember right it was the first ufc in London....didnt Freeman win in the first round....Mir was in piss poor shape i remember....It was the show where the black English lad i forget his name now got the 10 second knockout win....Matt Hughes/thingybob Newton was a much better fight on the same night. Certainly agree with the first one though Griffin and Bonner.
trappa 518
Ye mate the black lad was weir, great kick. The Mir v freeman thing was more politics. The ufc brought their "new" weapon over and he was supposed to thrash freeman but he showed some amazing power and knocked Mir all over the place. HIs dad had died too but he didnt know, they didnt tell him till after the fight.
