Ideation 8,216
This is going to sound like another of my rants, but it's just something i don't get. People are ALWAYS on here, especially in the lurcher section, looking for the 'best' lurcher for something. What's the best dog for lamping? Whats the best x for foxing? Whats the best x for me? Whats the best terrier for digging fox? Whats the best dog for ferreting? and the list goes on and on. Do these folk really think there is a single 'best' breed, or cross, for doing any particular discipline, and that if you get that breed or x, it should know its job out of the box. I know that some breeds are more suited to certain things, such as the saluki crosses to daytime hare work. But if life was that easy and simple. . . . . . How long will it take people to realise that seeking a litter of a specific x, just because some geezer on THL said it was the best for 'smashing da foxes' or whatever, is a lot less important than seeking a litter where both the parents are doing to a high standard what you want the pup to do. I just hate folk using the word 'best' it's a nonsense.

fcuktheban 140
I don't know which one is worse "what's the best" or starting a topic that's been done 1,000 times on a well known line which always ends in bloodshed.
