Mosby 355
I've never favored bayers. The last couple years I tried a few bayers because I heard so many people praising them. I even hopped on defending the bayer point of view. Maybe they work well somewhere else but here I lost alot of game to bolts because of bayers, I'd have to dig more and it would take way more time to stack up the same pile of game as my mixxers and hard/mixing types. I won't keep an out and out bayer anymore, doesn't have a place in my tool box. I still went out and got game, the dogs were finders and stayers - but push come to shove and they were not up to snuff. 2 Quote Link to post

lancer 13
how long do you think a terrier is going to mix it with a fox while your digging down, just some say they prefer a mixer to a bayer. Quote Link to post

I know the terriers i use will not give a fox respect so they wont mix it for long,if they get to it they will take hold and thats the end of it.I wont keep a bayer type, and i also think a terrier should be well capable of dealing with fox.As a very experienced terrier man said to me last week, the only reason a terrier bays a fox is that its afraid of it.Was he right, well would the same terrier bay at a rabbit or rat,i dont think it would so there has to be some logic to his theory. 1 Quote Link to post
