porkypowell 2
Hi, I am in the process of training and starting off a first cross sprocker x border collie 10 months. I have owned working dogs for the best part of 15 years lurchers, terriers, sprockers, and a beagle. Starting back at the sport after a lay off and fancied something different I bred her myself from my sprocker bitch and a stunning looking farm collie. I intend to train this dog to work with ferrets and a bit of rough shooting. Obedience training was a breeze and the bitch is very keen to please she has had a mixy rabbit and is bunny mad at the moment she will make an average dog with the potential to make a first class ferreter. What are your opinions of the cross and the outcome of my little experiment? Simon Edited March 4, 2007 by porkypowell Quote Link to post
Hob&Jill 258
Sounds odd to say the least, but theres no reason it wont be a first classer, get the training right and your flying :thumbs-up: We have had some odd crosses, got one now, we dont even know whats in her exept for Beddy and shes showing promise. Was it a deliberate mating mate? Edited March 6, 2007 by Hob&Jill Quote Link to post

JordKil 0
Really late reply lol but i have a 'sprollie' (if you like) or a collie/springer he's two years old and is a great dog overall. He was a rescue at 5 months and he does absolutly everything! He's an outstanding guard dog that stops anyone who would try to enter the house/garden or my own personal space. He has a great nose and can track and find anything. He can catch rabbits on the lamp with some work but gets his bunny on a good day also doesnt hesitate on fox . And im in the process of teaching him to mark when out with ferrets. Also retrieves well and quickly. Brilliant dog well worth it i think! Jordan Quote Link to post
