It's an open forum mate, folk can reply with what they like. I agree it was not on topic, but you never know, the lad may have thought that hancocks dogs were worked, and so this info might affect his decision. Either way it's a fair comment. But like you said, if you don't have the time, or resources to find a working bred collie x grey and you just want a rabbiting dog, then it should be ok.

Just want a rabbiting dog?........

I happen to think that the humble Rabbit is one of the worst quarry for sickening a collie based Lurcher.

Rabbit after rabbit...... Day after day......night after night.

Id have thought a dog running bunny's,day after day, night after night, would have greatly benefited from an infusion of decent collie blood. But i suppose that would depend on the owner and the dogs breeding.

Yep, decent collie blood with the running dog attitude.

Nothing more frustrating however than a Lurcher picking and choosing.....

When a dog shows more intelligence than the owner, the dog is always at fault, give a decent collie bred lurcher to the hunter with the least intelligence[im not getting at bullx owners]and that dog will catch, the ability of the owner to comprehend how best to utilise that dog is where the problems manifest themselves.
