mackem 27,591
I was invited to fish a renown chalk-stream in Hampshire several weeks ago,it is a very expensive beat far too costly for my plebian pockets, however as I say I was a guest so no payment,I had a remarkable session and ended up keeping 9 wild brownies with a combined weight of a tad under 14lbs Quote Link to post

Fat-Ferret 857
2 years ago almost to the day...Myself and two good friends had a total of 74 catches of thornback ray and turbot in about 3 hours...It got to be a nuisance after a while! Baiting one rod while the other bounced, reeling in, baiting, the other rod going again! A good night though 1 Quote Link to post

NEWKID 27,587
Some good days there lads I got asked to do a mail mission for the anglers mail many years ago when I worked in our local tackle shop, it used to be a centre double page feature where you were set a task to catch a certain weight of fish in a few hours whilst they photographed you and you had to explain your tactics ect. I had been fishing the tidal Exe a lot back then catching a lot of dace and some quite big chub + bream, roach ect. The mission was to catch 10lb of fish I think in 4 hrs, I thought it would be mainly dace with maybe a bonus chub to boost the weight a bit, I had 5 chub all over 3lb in the first hour on the stick float, lost a crcking bream ( could've been a double) all photographed and plastered over the anglers mail ( front page as well), for a lad of around 17 I was made up it was one of those days where it all went right...... a red letter day Quote Link to post
RaiderBoy 19
Mine was about 2 years ago at white springs swansea, first time i had ever fished for carp, it was really an "all the gear, no idea" affiar. I set up next to nice chap by the name of Tom who shared all his tactics, shared his bait and put me onto the best spot he knew and the two rods i set up never got to be in the water more than 5 minutes all day, in the end i had to turn the bite alarms off as there was really no need for them. The end result was maybe 45-50 carp over 12 hours with the smallest being 8 lbs and the biggest 15.5 lbs. I still use that swim everytime i visit white springs and ive never failed to blank and have caught many a fish when every other angler on the lake had blanked. Now that was my red letter day!.
