The answers in the question my friend...you stated that you already have a bitch working...so just get a pup and enter it with the bitch in another 12 months time...atb stabba

always get a pup in my eyes, why would somebody sell a working dog? all i think if theyre selling a 7-10 month old dog theyve usually ran it too early which can cause them to blow a lung. and buying an older dog is buying someone elses problem.

problem is a very large percentage of those dogs have faults you most likely wont discover till youve got the dog home

ie; little or no recall, dog aggression, cant be kennelled and is destructive so cant be kept in the house either, has an injury, might be stolen, dog wont even look at a rabbit, dog is a nightmare around livestock, no lead training........ etc etc

your better off training your own dog from a pup instead of trying to fix someone elses mistakes

It's a bit of a lottery buying a full grown dog there are some good ones out there I'm sure but I would always go for a pup. I just think it is more satisfying to rear your own and see it develop into a good dog. It don't matter if you get a good adult dog it's not the same feeling as putting the time and effort in and reaping the rewards at the end of it.

I'd go for a pup but I have recently picked up a 3 yr old deerhound x bull grey but I only took it cos it was of a close mate and I had seen the dog out in field and had spent time with it so I knew it well but I would prefer a pup
