lunita 57
Who's going to the show at Erddig this weekend? I take my mutt for a walk round Erddig every day, went for a walk there last night and it looks like they're putting a fair bit of work into it....there was quite a few people camping there already! And now for the scary part, my mrs and 6 month old baby came with me last night (they don't normally), as we were walking down the path at the top end we could hear something coming rather rapidly and within a couple of seconds a fookin horse came running full speed towards us with the reigns flapping behind it....the path is about 6ft wide.....F'CK ME!!!!!! Luckily I had the pram right over to the side of the path and it ran straight past but if it'd have happened 1 minute later we'd have been in the part where the path is narrower.....kind of brought it home how quickly something could change/destroy your life!!! Anyway, my poor lurcher pup completely shat herself and legged it the same way the horse was running and turned the corner and the horse went the same way....I now know my pup has an extra gear that I didn't know about before, you should have seen the speed she was going down that path!!! She dipped into a path that we normally go down and the horse carried on going so she legged it all the way back round looking bizarrely pleased with herself. Worryingly though the horse carried on going full pelt towards a path that eventually leads to a cattle grid Hopefully it pulled up before it got to it but it didn't look like it was going to in all honesty, and I think it had blinkers on so there's a good chance it's dog food now. Ten or so minutes later we say the owners of the horse sort of running to try and find it, I told them what had happened and she said she couldn't hold it and went on their way to try and catch it. Accidents do happen but when you're in charge of something that big and powerful you make sure you keep control of the f'cking thing!!!!! I wasn't happy at all and my mrs was well shaken up, my pup just kept looking at me as if to say "can't we just stick to chasing f'ckin rabbits???" Anyway, who's going? It's only 1 mile from my house so we'll be wandering over there for sure was driving round a roundabout during rush hour just outside of galway city last summer and there was a fine looking piebald horse grazing on the roundabout, fecking thing took a notion to jump over the bonnet of our van and galloped full pelt down the road. must have escaped from somewhere but if it had caused a crash whats the betting the owner would be nowhere to be found travllers leave their horses anywhere one thing i found so strange when i first moved to ireland...i walked to work many times in morning and got outside my house to see group of horses walking up road past my house, or once a while load of them trotting up a main road...very surreal at 7am..lol As for rob..glad yopur family were ok...but ive had horses all my life was riding as soon as could hold on at 3...and so consider myself an experinecd rider and il tell you even the most trained horse and experinced rider can have something happen and the horse gets free...anyone with sense will; try their hardest not to let go ..but it does happen im afraid therefore if your ever anywhere near horses or at a show you always have to keep your eyes open....horses are horses they never 100%..just like dogs who people think would never bite...u never know they are animals after all hope everyone that goes has great time...wish i was going..
