Any ideas what would be best for Pup, raw Lamb Mince, or Beef mince, protein wise

I have a picky eater, so mixing with raw tripe, with either of the above would it bring the protein level down.

and in Scotland does anyone use Durham Animal Feeds or Barf Supplies Scotland, and which one would you recommend for quality.

I use Durham animal feeds and their meat is top quality ...Beef or the lamb is good ..personally i would feed some of their chicken in too.I feed more than just meat ...raw veg, brown bread ,pasta, rice and and my dogs thrive on it. They also do a a beef and tripe mix and a chicken and tripe mix too which puts weight on my dogs very quickly.

You need to make sure the pup gets bones too: for calcium. I've not yet met a pup which didn't like chicken carcases. If you are worried about bones, then smash up the carcase with a hammer first: I do this for pups which have got to the stage of gobbling everything down fast: just until they start teething: then they need something to chew on and their digestive system will be tough enough to cope with any bits of bone that are swallowed. Chicken carcases have soft bones anyway as domestic chickens are killed very young and the bones are not brittle.

Cheers Skycat Pup gets two Chicken Wings smashed up every day for Breakfast, plus SE50 sprinkled on food, plus Seaweed powder twice a week and powdered brewers yeast daily,

Do you know what is best the Beef mince or Lamb mince? and Lamb bones.

From DAF the choice is yours they both contain muscle, organ ,offal, bone, tripe and sinew. The last 2 lots of beef i had were fatty which is fine and the lamb seemed lean. But that could change at any time i suppose. Why not feed both along with the minced chicken. Variety is good for them

There is no 'best' food. As people have already said, feed a good variety of different meats etc and you won't go far wrong. But I'd lose the brewer's yeast: have never given it to dogs at any time of their life. Yeast can cause fungal problems in dogs and gas! It is also quite common for dogs to be intolerant to yeast products. Providing you are giving a balanced diet of protein, carbs and fresh green vegetables you shouldn't need to supplement other than a bit of Cod Liver Oil and Kelp which provides all the minerals needed.

Lamb rib bones are great, as is breast of lamb.

Cheers Skycat,

Just ordered a box of Lamb, a box of Beef, a box of Green tripe, all minced and one box of chicken wings, from DAF will lose the brewers yeast, I am using Flax oil once a Week, but should I drop this and give Cod Liver Oil instead?
