simonrocco 175
hello pal iv been running lurchers doubled up for 18 years now and never had a problem or an injury caused by doing this i also run them single handed to but its mostly doubled up. i was hoping someone was going to come out and say this well said mate for telling me how you run your dogs, ive watched loads of runing dvds and seen loads of dogs on dvd runing doubled, wrekin krew was one and daytime dvds there is loads also waterloo cup and some collie xs trackin foxes over the mountains like i say a few,But no one on here except one now 2 dont run there dogs doubled, ive learnt a lot today thankyou very much what have ya learned ,,? waterloo cup is a competition, different matter altogether, each to there own though, i always felt big quarry was different to bunnies, looking back at it now the lad i hunted with who ran doubled up, was just desperate to catch , more for the need than the enjoyment, good luck too ya anyway , no pal im not desprate to catch stuff it's just the way i do it you do it your way and i do it mine each to there own 1 Quote Link to post

baw 4,360
its a wind up .. nearly as good as one of baws threds Great thread breezymound I've never ran rabbits doubled up that I can think of but I have whiteys; which is as close as your gonna get. I've seen a few collisions but no real damage done. Yes the dogs run different doubled up with usually the dominant one leading. I've never seen it having an adverse effect when running single. Dogs aren't as daft as some people make them out to be. Windyarse, keep doing what your doing pal Quote Link to post

Dogs aren't as daft as some people make them out to be. Windyarse, keep doing what your doing pal Ive seen dogs injured quite badly doubled up usualy at a srike when total focus is on the quarry, and i know a fella who kept a pair of collie/whippet/greys they were doubled on everything it was his choice they worked well on the lamp together for 3 seasons i think, 1 was killed or pts should i say because of an accident whislt out lamping doubled up now i seen these 2 dogs out paired up, and i seen the other perform the season after and to be fair it was shite always seemed lacking and i wondered why till it clicked it was that used to running as a pair it was relieing on another dog it was like watching a sapling trying to put it together again or a first season dog if ye like not an animal on its fourth season Quote Link to post
baw 4,360
Hedz, Your confusing a shite dog needing to run doubled with a good dog being able to do both. If you have a good dog which is used to running single it won't turn shite cos you sometimes double it up. As for accidents, it happens whether singled or doubled. The only time I wouldn't recommend it is on the lamp. Sorry if that's what everyone has been talking about, I thought it was daylight running. Quote Link to post
