scott7877 0
Hi guys, I'm gonna be getting my two ferrets on Wed. The two I've chose are brother and sister, both are not going to be used for breeding, so should I get the hob castrated later this year, then have the Jill sorted after her first season? I'll be having her taken out of season by a proven vasectomised hob or by the vets implant. Any info on timing etc would be great. ps, they are both 8 weeks on Wed when I collect them. Thanks, Scott. B.P.R 2,798
Castrate the hob [bANNED TEXT] his balls drop around 6 months and leave the Jill. I know people who have vasectomised the brother and used him to take his sister out of season but I don't know how Morally right that is Quote Link to post

If you did get him vasectomised he would still be sexually aggressive so they would have to be seperated. Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
All this castration, Vasectomy is new to me, being one of the old school,I too have just acquired a Brother and sister, I was going to get the Hob Vasectomised at 6 Months, and keep the two of them together, as I only have the one hutch, and no space for another, also another reason for getting him Vasectomised was a couple of Lads I know could also use him to bring their Jills out.So could I keep them together if he has been vasectomised.I suppose it would help if he was away for a bit bringing Jills out of Season. The one 8,493
The only thing i would worry about with a snipped hob in with only the one jill is he would cut or mark her up really badly as he would try her all the time Quote Link to post
