Whippet x greyhound

Recommended Posts

This is my whippet grey cross the white one, little bit about her she is extremely quick if anything I think they are one of the quickest type lurchers you can get! Very intelligent and they make excellent day dogs. I dont really use her for lamping as I use ryfud the big one the times I have taken her out she has been brilliant but hand on heart it has only been a few times. I think they are very sensitive to humans aswell so if your aggressive in your voice dont attempt to get one of these! They are excellent with children and thet dont tend to eat much. Hope this helps

Yes mate they run all night long without a shadow of a doubt and surprisingly they recover very quick aswell. I dont use mine on the lamp as we use the racy bulls for lamping and when they kick off she is absolutely shit scared of them.

They remind me alot on the lamp of a good collie grey! but the only thing is they seem to be very sensitive dogs (my mrs thinks its a woman thing :icon_eek: )but I know for 2 other dogs 1 in the past when I was younger and they all seemed to be sensitive but apart from that these dogs move it takes them a while to learn to run tight as they tend to go wide but they do get better at it and as for day work absolutely fantastic!

They work very well with ferrets and terriers I havent taken her out with birds of prey as of yet but this bitch can tell the difference between a pheasant and a chicken!

I cant say the same for the other one because he even eats ferrets  stupid bloody dog!

Come to think of it I think he would eat the birds of prey too!

Sorry to hear that mate just out of interest do you feed the dogs loads of supplements? We have been hearing quite alot of stories about this type of injuries in dog shows, one of the vets has even mentioned that when you feed raw meat to the dogs they need to eat the bones aswell! I dont know if this is anything to do with it but nearly all the stories come from whippet crosses or pure whippets but I have to say touch wood I have not had trouble with this and my dogs eat anything from game to lettuce and ryfud will eat absolutely anything.
